Omni Television, corporately styled as OMNI Television, is a Canadian television system owned and operated by Rogers Communications. It currently consists of all six of Canada's conventional multicultural television stations, which are located in Ontario (2), British Columbia, Alberta (2), and Quebec (the latter as a secondary affiliate). In addition, Rogers also briefly operated religious television stations in the Vancouver and Winnipeg television markets under the "Omni" brand before divesting them in 2008.
Derived from the Latin word “omnis” meaning “all”, "Omni" is not an acronym, although the name is written all in capital letters.

Famous quotes containing the word television:
“Television ... helps blur the distinction between framed and unframed reality. Whereas going to the movies necessarily entails leaving ones ordinary surroundings, soap operas are in fact spatially inseparable from the rest of ones life. In homes where television is on most of the time, they are also temporally integrated into ones real life and, unlike the experience of going out in the evening to see a show, may not even interrupt its regular flow.”
