Mount McKinley
In April 2012, Omar attempted to climb the highest mountain in Alaska and North America, also known as Denali. After 3 weeks on the mountain, the team retreated due to severe weather conditions. This in itself was not easy; bad weather stopped the team from reaching the summit but 2 days later it also stopped them from heading back down. With food and fuel running out, they were finally able to descend the mountain and reach safety. Omar intends to return in 2013 to attempt the mountain one more time. If he succeeds he will have completed a world-known challenge known as the 7 Summits; climbing the highest mountain on every continent.
