Famous quotes containing the word yields:
“But labor of the hands, even when pursued to the verge of drudgery, is perhaps never the worst form of idleness. It has a constant and imperishable moral, and to the scholar it yields a classic result.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
“As yields no mercy to desert,
Nor grace to those that crave it.
Sweet sun, when thou lookest on,
Pray her regard my moan;
Sweet birds, when you sing to her,
To yield some pity, woo her;”
—Thomas Lodge (1558?–1625)
“Three parts of him
Is ours already, and the man entire
Upon the next encounter yields him ours.”
—William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
