Ohio State’s engineering program is ranked first among all Ohio universities and 17th nationally among public universities in the U.S. News & World Report 2014 listing. The university ranks 14th in the country for research and development expenditures, according to the National Science Foundation. Ohio State also ranks 9th in the nation among public universities in private support, which was more than $364 million for fiscal year 2012, when College of Engineering and Knowlton School of Architecture private support exceeded $32 million.
