The President of the Philippines uses two black, heavily armoured Mercedes Benz S600 Guards, with one acting as a decoy vehicle. When travelling in a motorcade or convoy, the President is always escorted by the Presidential Security Group in a number of black Nissan Patrols and a combination of the following vehicles: Audi A6, BMW 7 Series, Chevrolet Suburban, Hyundai Equus, Hyundai Starex, Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Toyota Camry, Toyota Land Cruiser, Philippine National Police 400cc motorcycles, Philippine National Police Toyota Altis (police car variant), other government-owned vehicles, and an ambulance. High-security motorcades involve as many as 40 vehicles, but the actual number is dependent on the destination.
Presidential cars are registered and bear the licence plate number "1", while the National Flag and the Presidential Standard are mounted on the bonnet. Occasionally, the President boards a bulletproof Toyota Coaster or Mitsubishi Rosa during provincial trips.
The incumbent President, Benigno Aquino III, prefers to use his personal Toyota Land Cruiser 200 instead of the official fleet of black limousines, mainly because the electronics of these were damaged in 2009 by Tropical Storm Ketsana (Ondóy). Because of his sworn policies on the anti-wang-wang act he, as President of the Philippines displays a moral example of not using or at very minimum usage of the motorcade's sirens. Along with this policy is to observe regular traffic regulations by making the full motorcade stop at the road when the lights are red. On the other hand, the Vice President uses this liberty to use sirens at his extent and not stopping at red lights.
The Vice President of the Philippines uses a Mercedes Benz W140 S-Class, and is often escorted by the Presidential Security Group.
