Northern Light (spacecraft) - Landing Site

Landing Site

The landing site has not yet been determined. Given the purpose of the equipment aboard the spacecraft, the landing site will more than likely be a dry 'sea', within 5 km of a basin formation. The purported area will serve as both a palaeontogical exploration site, as well as a potential area where ice or liquid water could be found.

Famous quotes containing the words landing and/or site:

I foresee the time when the painter will paint that scene, no longer going to Rome for a subject; the poet will sing it; the historian record it; and, with the Landing of the Pilgrims and the Declaration of Independence, it will be the ornament of some future national gallery, when at least the present form of slavery shall be no more here. We shall then be at liberty to weep for Captain Brown. Then, and not till then, we will take our revenge.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The present hour is always wealthiest when it is poorer than the future ones, as that is the pleasantest site which affords the pleasantest prospects.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
