North Strathfield Railway Station
North Strathfield is a CityRail railway station on the Northern line. The station serves the residential area of North Strathfield.
During trackwork on the Western line, trains will sometimes run between North Strathfield station and Olympic Park Station. This happened when there was a major event on at Acer arena (Allphones Arena) and there was trackwork on the Western line and trains were unable to run between Olympic Park Station and Lidcome station. The trains run via the electrified freight line from North Strathfield and passing to the north of Homebush station and Flemington station.

Famous quotes containing the words north, railway and/or station:
“We have heard all of our lives how, after the Civil War was over, the South went back to straighten itself out and make a living again. It was for many years a voiceless part of the government. The balance of power moved away from itto the north and the east. The problems of the north and the east became the big problem of the country and nobody paid much attention to the economic unbalance the South had left as its only choice.”
—Lyndon Baines Johnson (19081973)
“Her personality had an architectonic quality; I think of her when I see some of the great London railway termini, especially St. Pancras, with its soot and turrets, and she overshadowed her own daughters, whom she did not understandmy mother, who liked things to be nice; my dotty aunt. But my mother had not the strength to put even some physical distance between them, let alone keep the old monster at emotional arms length.”
—Angela Carter (19401992)
“It was evident that the same foolish respect was not here claimed for mere wealth and station that is in many parts of New England; yet some of them were the first people, as they are called, of the various towns through which we passed.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
