North Royalton Vocal Music Department

North Royalton High School Vocal Department has had at least one choir since its founding. The oldest performing group is the Concert Choir made up of SATB singers from different grade-levels. In the 1980s North Royalton expanded to include "Royal Harmony", a competing SATB show choir. The founding of this group was due in large part to Kim Brickman's enthusiasm. In addition to choirs, the Vocal Department at North Royalton helps to produce an annual Musical each spring.

There are currently four choirs: Freshman Choir, Concert Choir, Royaltones, and Royal Harmony.
Royal Harmony competed on February 18, 2012, at the Medina Midwest Competition. This was the first time the group had competed in over 30 years. They were awarded with second runner-up in Class B, marking a new era of Royal Harmony's pursuit of excellence in the art of dancing and singing.

Famous quotes containing the words north, vocal, music and/or department:

We should declare war on North Vietnam.... We could pave the whole country and put parking strips on it, and still be home by Christmas.
    Ronald Reagan (b. 1911)

If I feel strongly, I say it. I know I can do more good by being vocal than by staying quiet. I’d have a whole lot more money if I lied, but I wouldn’t enjoy spending it.
    Martina Navratilova (b. 1956)

If I could believe the Quakers banned music because church music is so damn bad, I should view them with approval.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)

“Which is more important to you, your field or your children?” the department head asked. She replied, “That’s like asking me if I could walk better if you amputated my right leg or my left leg.”
