History
Since the independence of Croatia in 1992 NK Pomorac played in Croatian Third Football League until the 1995-96 season, when it became champion of the Croatian Third Football League and was promoted to the Druga HNL. In 1995-96 NK Pomorac won the Regional Cup of Croatia and qualified for 1/16 final of Croatian Cup where it played against Hajduk Split. In the first match in Kostrena Hajduk won 2-0, and in the return leg in Split, NK Pomorac drew 1-1. According to Croatian press reports the level of NK Pomorac's play was equal to that of Hajduk Split.
NK Pomorac played in Druga HNL from 1996-97 to 2000-01, when it was promoted to Prva HNL, Croatian top tier. The club had two seasons in Prva HNL - 2001-02 and 2002-03. Since 2003, NK Pomorac has played in Druga HNL, where it regularly finished high.
