NK Pomorac Kostrena
NK Pomorac is a Croatian football club based in Kostrena, a suburb of Rijeka, a port city lying on the Adriatic Sea. Kostrena is known for its maritime tradition, which is reflected in the club's name, as the word "pomorac" means "mariner" or "seaman" in English.
Founded in 1912, NK Pomorac is one of the oldest football clubs in Croatia. They currently compete in Druga HNL, Croatian second division. Pomorac had finished the 2009–10 and the 2011-12 seasons in second place, but were declined promotion as they were unable to gain a licence required to compete in top level. From 2012, they will act as a farm team for the nearby Prva HNL club HNK Rijeka.
