Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority - Governing Body and Executive Director

Governing Body and Executive Director

The NFTA's operations are overseen by a 12 member Board of Commissioners, that the Executive Director reports to. The members are nominated by the Governor of the State of New York, with one by the New York State Senate. Most appointments are for five year terms, but some commissioners have been appointed part-way into a term, replacing a previous commissioner.

The present executive director is Kimberley A. Minkel, previously the Director of Health, Safety, and Environmental Quality. Kimberley Minkel will also carry the recognition as the first female executive director of the NFTA.

Famous quotes containing the words governing, body, executive and/or director:

... governing is occupying but not interesting, governments are occupying but not interesting ...
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)

    O chestnut-tree, great-rooted blossomer,
Are you the leaf, the blossom or the bole?
O body swayed to music, O brightening glance,
How can we know the dancer from the dance?
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

When you give power to an executive you do not know who will be filling that position when the time of crisis comes.
    Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961)

The director is simply the audience. So the terrible burden of the director is to take the place of that yawning vacuum, to be the audience and to select from what happens during the day which movement shall be a disaster and which a gala night. His job is to preside over accidents.
    Orson Welles (1915–1984)
