New York State Route 108

New York State Route 108 (NY 108) is a 1.72-mile (2.77 km) long north–south state highway located on the Suffolk County side of the Suffolk–Nassau county line on Long Island, New York, in the United States. It is a spur route connecting NY 25A in Cold Spring Harbor to the Cold Spring Harbor station on the Long Island Rail Road's Port Jefferson Branch by way of Harbor Road. State maintenance of Harbor Road terminates at the Nassau County line, and the road continues into Nassau County as Woodbury Road (County Route 12 or CR 12, an unsigned route). NY 108, assigned in the early 1930s, is the shortest state highway on Long Island.

Famous quotes containing the words york, state and/or route:

So much missing, no sense of self, no core, no trust. Only a deep hollow we need to fill.
Sister Michele, Indian nun. As quoted in the New York Times Magazine, p. 35 (January 16, 1994)

Utah is the only State that gives condemned men a choice between death by hanging or before a firing squad. Most prisoners prefer the firing squad, but one obstinate convict in 1912 elected to be hanged because “hanging is more expensive to the state.”
State of Utah, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

In the mountains the shortest route is from peak to peak, but for that you must have long legs. Aphorisms should be peaks: and those to whom they are spoken should be big and tall of stature.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
