Surveillance

Surveillance systems have been implemented to track sharps injuries and the progress that is achieved in their elimination. In the US there are two voluntary national surveillance systems for tracking sharps injuries: The National Surveillance System for Health care Workers (NaSH) of the CDC and EpiNet of the International Halth Care Worker safety center at the University of Virginia. Also, some states have set up annual surveillance reporting such as Massachusetts.
