The propaganda that the Nazis exposed to the German people and soldiers desensitized them. Looking at the actions carried out against the Jewish people with the Holocaust and in the campaigns on other countries, like the 1939 Polish Campaign, it becomes obvious that the German warfare in World War II was especially brutal and unforgiving. With the use of Blitzkrieg the German army was able to quickly eliminate anyone they had targeted, slaughtering them, with what seems, no second thought. It is possible that the message of propaganda, the instillation of race consciousness, is a significant factor in explaining the brutal actions of the German army.
