Career
Sheikh Nawaf's experience in Kuwaiti politics include his role as the Governor of Hawalli from 12 February 1962 to 1978. He was appointed the Minister of Interior in 12 March 1978 until he was assigned to the post of Minister of Defense on 26 January 1988 and again on 20 June 1992. On 13 July 2003, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. He was then assigned to First Deputy Prime Minister on 16 October 2003. His term lasted until 2006.
