National Training Center
The federation's headquarters is vastly growing and becoming more adaptable to its athletes. It is surrounded by 3 grass pitches and a dormitory area for the players. The Guatemala football association's second Goal project consists of two parts. Firstly, the association's previous Goal project - a national technical centre in Guatemala City - will be upgraded to incorporate dressing rooms, storerooms and a medical centre, and the pitch at the centre will be extended. Secondly, work will be done on the pitches at the regional training centre in Quetzaltenango in the nation's highlands.Women's football teams will be the main beneficiaries of the improvement in infrastructure. The Goal Bureau approved the project on 4 February 2008; the work will last approximately one year.

Famous quotes containing the words national, training and/or center:
“What do we mean by patriotism in the context of our times? I venture to suggest that what we mean is a sense of national responsibility ... a patriotism which is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.”
—Adlai Stevenson (19001965)
“Im not suggesting that all men are beautiful, vulnerable boys, but we all started out that way. What happened to us? How did we become monsters of feminist nightmares? The answer, of course, is that we underwent a careful and deliberate process of gender training, sometimes brutal, always dehumanizing, cutting away large chunks of ourselves. Little girls went through something similarly crippling. If the gender training was successful, we each ended up being half a person.”
—Frank Pittman (20th century)
“When the landscape buckles and jerks around, when a dust column of debris rises from the collapse of a block of buildings on bodies that could have been your own, when the staves of history fall awry and the barrel of time bursts apart, some turn to prayer, some to poetry: words in the memory, a stained book carried close to the body, the notebook scribbled by handa center of gravity.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
