National Aviary

The National Aviary, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is America's only independent indoor nonprofit aviary. It is also America's largest aviary, and the only accorded honorary "National" status by the United States Congress.

The aviary is home to over 600 animals representing about 200 species, and is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

Famous quotes containing the words national and/or aviary:

Maybe it’s understandable what a history of failures America’s foreign policy has been. We are, after all, a country full of people who came to America to get away from foreigners. Any prolonged examination of the U.S. government reveals foreign policy to be America’s miniature schnauzer—a noisy but small and useless part of the national household.
    —P.J. (Patrick Jake)

If ever there was an aviary overstocked with jays it is that Yaptown-on-the-Hudson, called New York.
    O. Henry [William Sydney Porter] (1862–1910)
