In Popular Culture
Nasu no Yoichi appears in the manga Drifters by Kouta Hirano. He is the age of nineteen and appears very feminine. He appears at first as a female - or, at least, the other characters believe that he is one, which leads to some confusion later on.
Naso no Yoichi also appears briefly in the Studio Ghibli film Pom Poko, when an elderly raccoon shapeshifts into him to re-enact the incident to celebrate his 999th birthday.

Famous quotes containing the words popular and/or culture:
“Parents ability to survive a childs unabating needs, wants, and demands...varies enormously. Some people can give and give....Whether children are good or bad, brilliant or just about normal, enormously popular or born loners, they keep their cool and say just the right thing at all times...even when they are miserable themselves, inexhaustible springs of emotional energy, reserved just for children, keep flowing unabated.”
—Stella Chess (20th century)
“The future is built on brains, not prom court, as most people can tell you after attending their high school reunion. But youd never know it by talking to kids or listening to the messages they get from the culture and even from their schools.”
—Anna Quindlen (b. 1953)
