Musou

Musou or Muso (無双, musō?) is a Japanese word that means The Only One, or Without Equal. The word is a direct translation of the Chinese term, wúshuāng (simplified Chinese: 无双; traditional Chinese: 無双, where the hanzi characters literally translate to "no two", implying that there is only one. In Japanese, numerous homonyms such as "dream" (夢想, musō?) also exist. It can also refer to:

  • Muso, a minor fictional character from InuYasha
  • The Musou series of video games from Koei, including the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series, Warriors Orochi, and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam
  • Musou Gauge, a gauge used in the Dynasty Warriors video games. Introduced in Dynasty Warriors 2, while the player character deals and receives damage, the gauge fills up. When the gauge is full, the player can press a button and perform a special attack specific to that player character.
  • Musō Soseki (1275-1351), a Japanese Zen master.
