Ownership

The Montreal Alouettes Football Club is owned by business man Bob Wetenhall, who purchased the club in 1997. He was also a co-owner of the Boston Patriots of the American Football League during the late 1960s and continued as an owner of the New England Patriots when the franchise entered the NFL. He also was a co-owner of a North American Soccer League team in the 1970s.

He was granted the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from McGill University a testament to the pivotal role he played in the redevelopment of the Montreal Alouettes and the accompanying expansion of the McGill University's Percival Molson Stadium in 2011.

Famous quotes containing the word ownership:

They had their fortunes to make, everything to gain and nothing to lose. They were schooled in and anxious for debates; forcible in argument; reckless and brilliant. For them it was but a short and natural step from swaying juries in courtroom battles over the ownership of land to swaying constituents in contests for office. For the lawyer, oratory was the escalator that could lift a political candidate to higher ground.
