Succession
The order of succession to the Norwegian throne has followed absolute primogeniture since 1990, as is described in article 6 in the Constitution of Norway. Proximity of blood is taken into consideration, as only people descended from the reigning monarch and the reigning monarch's siblings and their descendants are entitled to succeed to the throne.
