Mira Road - Residential Development

Residential Development

Mira Road is divided into two parts by the Mumbai suburban rail line - East and West. Mira Road (East) consists of several residential localities and townships like Shanti Nagar, Shanti Park, Naya Nagaar, Shrishti Complex, Poonam Sagar Complex, Beverly Park, Sheetal Nagar, Pleasant Park etc.

Unlike the Eastern part of Mira Road, the Western part is a Salt-Pan land and is protected by local and national laws.

Famous quotes containing the words residential and/or development:

[The Republicans] offer ... a detailed agenda for national renewal.... [On] reducing illegitimacy ... the state will use ... funds for programs to reduce out-of-wedlock pregnancies, to promote adoption, to establish and operate children’s group homes, to establish and operate residential group homes for unwed mothers, or for any purpose the state deems appropriate. None of the taxpayer funds may be used for abortion services or abortion counseling.
    Newt Gingrich (b. 1943)

This was the Eastham famous of late years for its camp- meetings, held in a grove near by, to which thousands flock from all parts of the Bay. We conjectured that the reason for the perhaps unusual, if not unhealthful development of the religious sentiment here, was the fact that a large portion of the population are women whose husbands and sons are either abroad on the sea, or else drowned, and there is nobody but they and the ministers left behind.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
