Minnesota Junior Hockey League - History

History

In recent years, the league has found itself raided by the North American 3 Hockey League, losing many of its charter members in the summer of 2011. In 2012, the MJHL found itself on the receiving end of an exodus of teams from the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League. The GLJHL switched from USA Hockey to the Amateur Athletic Union and eight of its teams refused to go with it. The eight "Great Lakes" teams will form their own new division in the MJHL while the original teams will be a part of the Minnesota Division.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

History has neither the venerableness of antiquity, nor the freshness of the modern. It does as if it would go to the beginning of things, which natural history might with reason assume to do; but consider the Universal History, and then tell us,—when did burdock and plantain sprout first?
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

A man acquainted with history may, in some respect, be said to have lived from the beginning of the world, and to have been making continual additions to his stock of knowledge in every century.
    David Hume (1711–1776)

So in accepting the leading of the sentiments, it is not what we believe concerning the immortality of the soul, or the like, but the universal impulse to believe, that is the material circumstance, and is the principal fact in this history of the globe.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
