Minatomirai Line - History

History

Construction of the line started in 1993, but due to the need to extensively rework Yokohama station and other difficulties, it took 11 years and 260 billion yen (2.5 billion USD) to complete the line. The line was finally opened to the public on February 1, 2004.

8-car Tokyo Metro 10000 series sets entered revenue service on the Minatomirai Line and Tokyu Toyoko Line from 7 September 2012.
