Famous quotes containing the word children:
“Infants and young children are not just sitting twiddling their thumbs, waiting for their parents to teach them to read and do math. They are expending a vast amount of time and effort in exploring and understanding their immediate world. Healthy education supports and encourages this spontaneous learning.”
—David Elkind (20th century)
“Im afraid the visit of such a distinguished critic may cause my children to become conceited. To you they are wax, but to me, their creator, they live and breathe.”
—Crane Wilbur (18891973)
“Cannons and fire-arms are cruel and damnable machines; I believe them to have been the direct suggestion of the Devil. If Adam had seen in a vision the horrible instruments his children were to invent, he would have died of grief.”
—Martin Luther (14831546)
