Mighty Man (television) - Powers and Abilities

Powers and Abilities

Mighty Man possesses many of the "standard," stereotypical powers of a Superman-type superhero: he can move at high rates of speed, fly, (although he is just as often seen transporting himself and his sidekick around in a tricycle), is highly resistant to physical damage, and has super-strength - in Mighty Man's case, roughly as much strength as is seen in super-powered beings many times his size.

Despite his formidable array of powers, it often fell to his sidekick, an unbelievably ugly anthropomorhic hound named Yukk! (he's so ugly that things get wrecked and the area shakes violently as if in an earthquake--hence the doghouse on his head to hide his face), to free him from the death-traps which he often ended up in and/or save the day.

    My Vanquisher, spoild of his vanted spoile;
    Death his deaths wound shall then receive, & stoop
    *nglorious, of his mortall sting disarm’d.
    I through the ample Air in Triumph high
    Shall lead Hell Captive maugre Hell, and show
    The powers of darkness bound. Thou at the sight
    Pleas’d, out of Heaven shalt look down and smile,
    John Milton (1608–1674)

    A child is born with the potential ability to learn Chinese or Swahili, play a kazoo, climb a tree, make a strudel or a birdhouse, take pleasure in finding the coordinates of a star. Genetic inheritance determines a child’s abilities and weaknesses. But those who raise a child call forth from that matrix the traits and talents they consider important.
    Emilie Buchwald (20th century)
