Famous quotes containing the words midnight and/or moon:

And yet what good were yesterday’s devotions?
I affirm and then at midnight the great cat
Leaps quickly from the fireside and is gone.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

The moon has nothing to be sad about,
Staring from her hood of bone.
She is used to this sort of thing.
    Her blacks crackle and drag.
