Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland (UK Parliament Constituency) - Boundaries

Boundaries

The constituency was created in 1997, mostly replacing the former seat of Langbaurgh. It consists of the southern outskirts of Middlesbrough (such as Acklam, Hemlington, Nunthorpe, Coulby Newham, Marton, Easterside and Park End) and those parts of the Redcar and Cleveland district not in the Redcar constituency. These include Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Guisborough, Loftus, Skelton and Brotton. Labour managed to hold on to the seat in the 2010 General Election.

Famous quotes containing the word boundaries:

We love to overlook the boundaries which we do not wish to pass.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?
    Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1845)

We must be generously willing to leave for a time the narrow boundaries in which our individual lives are passed ... In this fresh, breezy atmosphere ... we will be surprised to find that many of our familiar old conventional truths look very queer indeed in some of the sudden side lights thrown upon them.
    Bertha Honore Potter Palmer (1849–1918)
