Michael Netzer - Personal Life

Personal Life

In September 1981, Netzer traveled to Lebanon to visit his father, intending to continue afterwards to Israel. When the Lebanon War broke out, he became stranded there until the fighting subsided. In August 1983, he hired a taxi that brought him to the Lebanon-Israel border, where he crossed into Israel. While settling in Israel, he studied Hebrew language and Judaism at several kibbutzim, and changed his last name to Netzer. In May 1985, he moved to Ofra, an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, where he currently resides. There he met and fell in love with Elana Joseph. They married and have five children.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:

No Vice or Wickedness, which People fall into from Indulgence to Desires which are natural to all, ought to place them below the Compassion of the virtuous Part of the World; which indeed often makes me a little apt to suspect the Sincerity of their Virtue, who are too warmly provoked at other Peoples personal Sins.
    Richard Steele (1672–1729)

Yet come to me in dreams that I may live
My very life again though cold in death:
Come back to me in dreams, that I may give
Pulse for pulse, breath for breath:
    Speak low, lean low,
As long ago, my love, how long ago.
    Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830–1894)
