History

Traditionally, the name Memon is an adaptation of Momin (Arabic: مومن‎) meaning faithful. This was used when this community converted to Islam. They are now predominantly Hanafi Sunni Muslims. They follow Sun-nah and hadeeth of Muhammad, considered by them to be the last prophet of God "Allah" (Offers five time prayers and recites Qur'an, . And adherent of Islam.
