Famous quotes containing the word personal:

I am thankful to God for this approval of the people. But while deeply grateful for this mark of their confidence in me, if I know my heart, my gratitude is free from any taint of personal triumph. I do not impugn the motives of any one opposed to me. It is no pleasure to me to triumph over any one.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

Impartial. Unable to perceive any promise of personal advantage from espousing either side of a controversy.
    Ambrose Bierce (1842–1914)

Regardless of age or status, women who seem clearest about their goals and most satisfied with their lives and personal and family relationships usually remember that their fathers enjoyed them and were actively interested in their development.
    Stella Chess (20th century)
