The Marchantiophyta i/mɑrˌkæntiˈɒfɨtə/ are a division of bryophyte plants commonly referred to as hepatics or liverworts. Like other bryophytes, they have a gametophyte-dominant life cycle, in which cells of the plant carry only a single set of genetic information.
