Main Station

Main Station

Central station is a common element in the names of railway stations. Stations which are called Central (or the local-language equivalent) are often centrally located within the place served, but this is not always the case and the name can exist for other reasons. The Central station may not be the main station in a particular settlement, as the main station may be elsewhere (for example Exeter Central railway station).

Famous quotes containing the words main and/or station:

Parents need to recognize that the negative behavior accompanying certain stages is just a small part of the total child. It should not become the main focus or be pushed into the limelight.
    Saf Lerman (20th century)

It was evident that the same foolish respect was not here claimed for mere wealth and station that is in many parts of New England; yet some of them were the “first people,” as they are called, of the various towns through which we passed.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
