Famous quotes containing the words bay, natural, area and/or preserve:

Baltimore lay very near the immense protein factory of Chesapeake Bay, and out of the bay it ate divinely. I well recall the time when prime hard crabs of the channel species, blue in color, at least eight inches in length along the shell, and with snow-white meat almost as firm as soap, were hawked in Hollins Street of Summer mornings at ten cents a dozen.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)

I am against nature. I don’t dig nature at all. I think nature is very unnatural. I think the truly natural things are dreams, which nature can’t touch with decay.
Bob Dylan [Robert Allen Zimmerman] (b. 1941)

I am aware of the damp souls of housemaids
    Sprouting despondently at area gates.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

As the House is designed to provide a reflection of the mood of the moment, the Senate is meant to reflect the continuity of the past—to preserve the delicate balance of justice between the majority’s whims and the minority’s rights.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)
