L'Wren Scott - Hollywood Stylist

Hollywood Stylist

Scott moved to California in the early 90's and established herself as a stylist, initially in collaboration with photographer Herb Ritts and later with Helmut Newton, Karl Lagerfeld and Mario Sorrenti. On of her early assignments was an ad campaign for Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds, eventually the world's top-selling celebrity fragrance. In 2000, she became the first style director of the Academy Awards.

She eventually became a highly influential celebrity stylist. In 2009 she contributed designs for Madonna to wear in her photo shoot with model Jesus Luz for W Magazine and in 2011, Scott styled actress Julia Roberts for a W Magazine shoot - alongside Tom Hanks.

Scott has designed costumes for several films; "Diabolique" with Sharon Stone, "Ocean's Thirteen" with Ellen Barkin, Stanley Kubrick's final film "Eyes Wide Shut" and Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary Shine a Light with Mick Jagger, with whom she has been romantically linked since 2001.

Famous quotes containing the word hollywood:

That’s one thing I like about Hollywood. The writer is there revealed in his ultimate corruption. He asks no praise, because his praise comes to him in the form of a salary check. In Hollywood the average writer is not young, not honest, not brave, and a bit overdressed. But he is darn good company, which book writers as a rule are not. He is better than what he writes. Most book writers are not as good.
    Raymond Chandler (1888–1959)
