LMS Color Space
LMS is a color space represented by the response of the three types of cones of the human eye, named after their responsivity (sensitivity) at long, medium and short wavelengths.
It is common to use the LMS color space when performing chromatic adaptation (estimating the appearance of a sample under a different illuminant).

Famous quotes containing the words color and/or space:
“The great God endows His children variously. To some he gives intellectand they move the earth. To some he allots heartand the beating pulse of humanity is theirs. But to some He gives only a soul, without intelligenceand these, who never grow up, but remain always His children, are Gods fools, kindly, elemental, simple, as if from His palette the Artist of all had taken one color instead of many.”
—Mary Roberts Rinehart (18761958)
“It is the space inside that gives the drum its sound.”
—Hawaiian saying no. 1189, lelo NoEau, collected, translated, and annotated by Mary Kawena Pukui, Bishop Museum Press, Hawaii (1983)
