- Walther PPK / P99 / PPK/S
- Walther firearms have had a long and storied history with 007. Bond later upgrades to a Walther P99 9 mm semi-automatic pistol in the film Tomorrow Never Dies before exchanging it for the traditional PPK in the film Quantum of Solace . In Skyfall, Q issues a new weapon to Bond - a Walther PPK/S 9mm short with a built in optical palm reader exclusively encoded to 007's palm print, ensuring 007 is the only one that can fire the weapon, making the new Walther a true signature gun.

Famous quotes containing the words standard, signature and/or items:
“This unlettered mans speaking and writing are standard English. Some words and phrases deemed vulgarisms and Americanisms before, he has made standard American; such as It will pay. It suggests that the one great rule of compositionand if I were a professor of rhetoric I should insist on thisis, to speak the truth. This first, this second, this third; pebbles in your mouth or not. This demands earnestness and manhood chiefly.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“The childless experts on child raising also bring tears of laughter to my eyes when they say, I love children because theyre so honest. There is not an agent in the CIA or the KGB who knows how to conceal the theft of food, how to fake being asleep, or how to forge a parents signature like a child.”
—Bill Cosby (20th century)
“In ordinary speech the words perception and sensation tend to be used interchangeably, but the psychologist distinguishes. Sensations are the items of consciousnessa color, a weight, a texturethat we tend to think of as simple and single. Perceptions are complex affairs that embrace sensation together with other, associated or revived contents of the mind, including emotions.”
—Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)
