Afghanistan
In Afghanistan the degrees are given based on academic background. Suppose one graduates and holds a BSc he will be chosen as Assistant Professor (Pohyalai), if one holds MSc in he will be chosen as Assistant Professor (Pohanyar) and if one holds PhD he will be named Associate Professor (Pohanmal). But in general if one is willing to get the degree he/she is supposed to work for three years then after his research project successfully completion he can be promoted to another degree. - Pohand : This degree is normally achieved by those who struggle a lot. It normally needs a time span of 18-20 years for very intelligent people.

- Pohanyar
