Career
ABBA, half of which were the parents of Ulvaeus, disbanded in 1983. During this time, Agnetha Fältskog decided to record an LP with her daughter. The LP, that was produced with the help of Michael Tretow, consisted of eighteen traditional Christmas carols and children's songs in Swedish. Nu tändas tusen juleljus was released in Sweden at the end of 1981.
However, Ulvaeus wanted to be an actress. After her musical debut with Nu tändas tusen juleljus, she made her acting debut on 1998 film Under solen as Lena. Ulvaeus then appeared on television series Labyrinten in 2000; in 2001 she appeared on Blå måndag, released directly to the video. She has also developed her career as a stage actress.
Ulvaeus appeared as a back vocal in the 2004 comeback single of her mother, "When You Walk in the Room". In 2006 Ulvaeus returned to big screen with the role of Sofia on 2006 film Meningen med alltihopa. She appeared in television series Playa del Sol in 2007.

Famous quotes containing the word career:
“Work-family conflictsthe trade-offs of your money or your life, your job or your childwould not be forced upon women with such sanguine disregard if men experienced the same career stalls caused by the-buck-stops-here responsibility for children.”
—Letty Cottin Pogrebin (20th century)
“Each of the professions means a prejudice. The necessity for a career forces every one to take sides. We live in the age of the overworked, and the under-educated; the age in which people are so industrious that they become absolutely stupid.”
—Oscar Wilde (18541900)
“I began my editorial career with the presidency of Mr. Adams, and my principal object was to render his administration all the assistance in my power. I flattered myself with the hope of accompanying him through [his] voyage, and of partaking in a trifling degree, of the glory of the enterprise; but he suddenly tacked about, and I could follow him no longer. I therefore waited for the first opportunity to haul down my sails.”
—William Cobbett (17621835)
