Student Clubs

Provo High School students created a gay-straight alliance in 2005. Provo, Utah is considered one of the most conservative cities in the state. In response, some residents asked the Provo School District Board of Education to shut down the group. However, the board members concluded it would violate federal law to do so, and instead created a new policy requiring parental signatures to join any school clubs.
