Personal Life
Parnell has two children. Son Blake (1980) was born to Parnell's first wife, Kristin. Daughter Allison (1985) was born to second wife Kerry Pryor. He married third wife Kimberlie in 1990. In March 2008, Parnell announced his engagement to Julie Albertson. They are expecting their first child in the fall of 2011.
Parnell has a brother, Rob Roy Parnell, who excels in the harmonica. In the latter 1990s, Parnell helped to revive the musical career of his friend Jay Boy Adams of Lubbock after Adams in 1982 had left the musical scene for nearly fifteen years.
