Leap Year Starting On Sunday

This is the calendar for any leap year starting on Sunday, January 1 (dominical letter AG), such as 1956, 1984, 2012, 2040, or 2068. This is the only leap year with three occurrences of Friday the 13th, each three months apart in January, April, and July (common years starting on Thursdays share this characteristic). Uniquely, the instances of Friday the 13th are also 13 weeks apart from one another.

They usually occur in 28 year intervals. Exceptions happen when there is no leap year on the beginning of a century.

Famous quotes containing the words leap, year, starting and/or sunday:

The far-off clinching and mating of arches, the leap and thrust of the stone, carrying a great roof overhead, awed and silenced her.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

The three practical rules, then, which I have to offer, are,— 1. Never read any book that is not a year old. 2. Never read any but famed books. 3. Never read any but what you like.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

He was at a starting point which makes many a man’s career a fine subject for betting, if there were any gentlemen given to that amusement who could appreciate the complicated probabilities of an arduous purpose, with all the possible thwartings and furtherings of circumstance, all the niceties of inward balance, by which a man swings and makes his point or else is carried headlong.
George Eliot [Mary Ann (or Marian)

Roosevelt could always keep ahead with his work, but I cannot do it, and I know it is a grievous fault, but it is too late to remedy it. The country must take me as it found me. Wasn’t it your mother who had a servant girl who said it was no use for her to try to hurry, that she was a “Sunday chil” and no “Sunday chil” could hurry? I don’t think I am a Sunday child, but I ought to have been; then I would have had an excuse for always being late.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)
