Lake Trout - Range

Range

From a zoogeographical perspective, lake trout are quite rare. They are native only to the northern parts of North America, principally Canada, but also Alaska and, to some extent, the northeastern United States. Lake trout have been introduced into many other parts of the world, mainly Europe, but also into South America and certain parts of Asia. About 25% of the world's lake trout lakes are found in the province of Ontario, Canada. Even at that, only 1% of Ontario's lakes contain lake trout. Labrador also has a large population of lake trout.

Famous quotes containing the word range:

A girl must allow others to share the responsibility for care, thus enabling others to care for her. She must learn how to care in ways appropriate to her age, her desires, and her needs; she then acts with authenticity. She must be allowed the freedom not to care; she then has access to a wide range of feelings and is able to care more fully.
    Jeanne Elium (20th century)

The more the specific feelings of being under obligation range themselves under a supreme principle of human dependence the clearer and more fertile will be the realization of the concept, indispensable to all true culture, of service; from the service of God down to the simple social relationship as between employer and employee.
    Johan Huizinga (1872–1945)

Whereas children can learn from their interactions with their parents how to get along in one sort of social hierarchy—that of the family—it is from their interactions with peers that they can best learn how to survive among equals in a wide range of social situations.
    Zick Rubin (20th century)
