Route Description
The Kwinana Freeway is the central section of State Route 2. It commences at the northern end of the Narrows Bridge, Perth, continuing south from the Mitchell Freeway, and terminates at the Pinjarra Road interchange at Barragup, where it then transitions to Forrest Highway. All intersections with the freeway are via grade separated interchange ramps. The speed limit is 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) north of Safety Bay Road and 110 kilometres per hour to the south. North of Mill Point Road, the freeway has 5 lanes in both directions - 4 for regular traffic and one for buses. South of Mill Point Road to Leach Highway the freeway generally has three lanes in each direction with the bus lanes merging south of Mill Point Road and then splitting off again near the Canning Bridge interchange. Road works on the freeway should see the six lanes extend south to Roe Highway after which the freeway becomes four lanes. The median strip of the freeway north of Mandogalup also houses the Mandurah railway line, with all the line's stations north of and including Cockburn Central also built on the strip. Additionally, a shared pedestrian and bicycle path is built alongside the entire length of the freeway.

Famous quotes containing the words route and/or description:
“By whatever means it is accomplished, the prime business of a play is to arouse the passions of its audience so that by the route of passion may be opened up new relationships between a man and men, and between men and Man. Drama is akin to the other inventions of man in that it ought to help us to know more, and not merely to spend our feelings.”
—Arthur Miller (b. 1915)
“The great object in life is Sensationto feel that we exist, even though in pain; it is this craving void which drives us to gaming, to battle, to travel, to intemperate but keenly felt pursuits of every description whose principal attraction is the agitation inseparable from their accomplishment.”
—George Gordon Noel Byron (17881824)
