KTVA

KTVA, channel 11, one of eight (7 commercial and 1 noncommercial) television stations) in Anchorage, Alaska, is affiliated with the CBS network. It is the only television station owned by the MediaNews Group, through a holding company, Affiliated Media. MediaNews is in the process of selling the station to GCI.

KTVA is broadcast over-the-air on digital channel 28 and on the local cable TV system, GCI. KTVA's digital signal covers the Anchorage bowl and much of the adjacent Matanuska-Susitna Valley reaching an audience of 289,670. KTVA is also carried throughout Alaska by GCI (except in Fairbanks) and by satellite by DirecTV and Dish Network. Some of its programming is broadcast to rural communities via low-power translators through the Alaska Rural Communications Service (ARCS).

KTVA brought in $6.8 million of revenue in 2009, second to KTUU-TV with $10 million (40% of the market), according to the trade publication Broadcasting and Cable.
