Krishnaism

Krishnaism

Krishnaism (also Bhagavatism) is a group of Hindu denominations within Vaishnavism, centered on devotion to Radha Krishna or other forms of Krishna, identified with Vishnu. Out of many deities, Krishna is particularly important, and Vaishnava traditions are generally centered either on Vishnu or on Krishna as Svayam Bhagavan ("the Lord Himself"). The term "Krishnaism" has been used to describe the sects focussed on Krishna, while "Vaishnavism" for sects focusing on Vishnu in which Krishna is an Avatar, rather than a transcended Supreme Being.
