Since 2007, the two Bristol City councillors for Filwood ward have been Labour Party members. The MP for the Bristol South constituency, since 1987, is Dawn Primarolo, of the Labour Party. Filwood is represented in the European Parliament by the six MEPs of the South West England constituency.
