Today
KGO is an all-news station on weekdays with the exception of the Ronn Owens show. Owens has a "personal services contract" with the station until the end of 2012 and hosts a news discussion program. Weekends feature a Saturday morning news block and talk programming, albeit with the station's signature traffic and weather on the 5's. In addition, KGO carries forecasts and news stories from KGO-TV, despite KGO-TV's ownership by the American Broadcasting Company.

Famous quotes containing the word today:
“A new world is not made simply by trying to forget the old. A new world is made with a new spirit, with new values. Our world may have begun that way, but today it is caricatural. Our world is a world of things.... What we dread most, in the face of the impending débâcle, is that we shall be obliged to give up our gewgaws, our gadgets, all the little comforts that have made us so uncomfortable.... We are not peaceful souls; we are smug, timid, queasy and quakey.”
—Henry Miller (1891–1980)
“The most original authors of today are original not because they create something new but because they are capable of saying such things as if they had never been said before.”
—Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832)
“The great majority of people in England and America are modest, decent and pure-minded and the amount of virgins in the world today is stupendous.”
—Barbara Cartland (b. 1901)
