Kfar Malal - History

History

The village was established in 1916 as "Ein Hai" (lit. Fountain of the Living) and later renamed Kfar Malal after Moshe Leib Lilienblum (משה לייב לילינבלום), whose acronym in Hebrew is MLL (מל"ל). Lilienblum (1843–1910) was an early leader of the Hovevei Zion movement.

Former Prime Minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon, was born in Kfar Malal. The moshav receives its municipal services from the Drom HaSharon Regional Council.

In 2006, Malal Park Industries Ltd, co-owned by members of Kfar Malal, signed an agreement with the German bank Eurohypo AG to refinance Park Azorim in Kiryat Aryeh, Petah Tikva.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

In the history of the United States, there is no continuity at all. You can cut through it anywhere and nothing on this side of the cut has anything to do with anything on the other side.
    Henry Brooks Adams (1838–1918)

... that there is no other way,
That the history of creation proceeds according to
    Stringent laws, and that things
Do get done in this way, but never the things
We set out to accomplish and wanted so desperately
    To see come into being.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

Hence poetry is something more philosophic and of graver import than history, since its statements are rather of the nature of universals, whereas those of history are singulars.
    Aristotle (384–322 B.C.)
