Kerli

Kerli Kõiv (born February 7, 1987), better known mononymously as Kerli, is an Estonian recording artist and songwriter. Born in Elva in the last years of the Soviet occupation, Kerli entered multiple singing competitions before being signed to The Island Def Jam Music Group in 2006 by LA Reid. In 2008, she released her debut album, Love Is Dead which charted at number 126 on the Billboard 200.

In June 2010, she appeared on Almost Alice — an album by various artists performing music inspired by the film Alice in Wonderland — with the song "Tea Party" and the song "Strange", which was a collaboration with Tokio Hotel. In December, a song titled "Army of Love" was released for free via download on her official website. The music video was officially released a week later. The song spent eleven weeks on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart before peaking at number 1. Another song by Kerli titled "Zero Gravity" peaked at number 6 during its eighth week on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart after being released as a single in March 2012. The music video for the song debuted the following day.

Kerli stated that neither "Army of Love" nor "Zero Gravity" were official singles from her upcoming studio album Utopia, and that they were only buzz singles and was unsure if "Army of Love" would be on the album. In May 2012, Kerli stated that the album was completed. A press release by Warner Music Group stated the album would be released in spring 2013.

In September 2012, Kerli's version of "I Feel Immortal" titled "Immortal" was released on Frankenweenie Unleashed!, and in October, the first single from the album titled "The Lucky Ones" was released as well as a collaboration between Kerli and Australian musician tyDi titled "Glow in the Dark".
